The article on wired travel on second life is a amazingly informative article. The most amazing thing I find about second life is how almost every world, item, or person you encounter is user created. A concept that I find wildly mind blowing is the fact that the department of homeland security has bought and used real estate in second life, among wells Fargo, and pepsi.
The begging of second life is very similar to that of America! in 2002 when second life was first opened for users, there was a tax on items. Users who were angry about this tax actually protested in much the same way as our forefathers. Users dressed as colonial garb and held tea party's all across second life. The market and economy on second life is a free market. Users can create, buy, sell, and trade items tax free.
Wired states that second life was sex free until users secretly brought in adult content. Surprisingly they have prostitution in second life.
People who state that second life is not a game is to be fooled, there are several games in second life. One game of many is on a island called "SAMURAI ISLAND" Were you actually get to battle with others!
My opinion on second life has changed greatly. I can see second life as being a fun thing to do. If only I can get it to work on my computer.
